In oil and gas terminals, the use of quick release mooring hooks for mooring vessels during cargo handling is recommended by the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), as they form the basis of a safe mooring system.

Lifting and Marine Services quick release mooring hooks are based on a well known design, which have been manufactured for over 30 years.
They have been upgraded in material selection and manufactured to provide safe and reliable operation in the environments encountered on jetties, and have been designed to provide ease of installation, maintenance and fitting of mooring load monitoring components.
The complete range of quick release mooring hooks has been designed to withstand the harshest of marine environments and feature simple release in both manual and remote release units. Standard hooks are available in single, double, triple, quadruple, double back-to-back and quadruple back-to-back. Safe working loads vary from 30 tonnes to 200 tonnes, with proof loads of 1.5 times the safe working load.
Our can be free standing or buoy mounted. Optionally, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic remote release systems are available, with an integrated capstan to assist heaving in the mooring lines from the vessel. The hooks can also be supplied with load pins and a load monitoring system.
